Gallery: Open-plan bathroom with copper bath and marble-effect tiles
The owners of this home in Warwickshire wanted to create an open-plan bedroom/bathroom as part of a larger extension to their 5 bedroom new-build property. By extending the house on the ground floor, the homeowners were able to create a more spacious room whilst also make the most of the stunning views of the Warwickshire countryside which surround the property.
Top of the client's wishlist for their new bathroom was a copper bath and once they'd chosen the exact model, our designer crafted the rest of the space around it. Our designer wanted to create two equally impressive vistas - of the view and of the bath - so incorporated a central wall to section off the bedroom and ensure both areas created drama and impact.
By using large-format marble-effect tiles, the designer was able to achieve a sense of luxury and let the natural finish of the bath take centre stage. The bath also has great practical qualities as copper is a super-conductor, meaning the bath stays a lovely temperature for longer, making it perfect for long soaks.
By dramatically increasing the footprint of the space, our designer was able to create a separate room for the WC and shower, partitioned by a sliding door which adds privacy as well as keeping steam from escaping into the bedroom. The two rooms were tied together into a cohesive scheme by incorporating the same black brassware and introducing the same marble-effect tiles as the bath area.
